Nine UHM undergraduates were honored this year with admission into the Japanese National Honor Society (JNHS). The JNHS recognizes and encourages scholastic achievement and excellent in Japanese study, and five of the nine UHM recipients were honored in a ceremony held in the Tokioka Room on December 10, 2009, pictured in the photo below.
Pictured from left to right are Sean Forte, Brandon Taflinger, Sunhee Kim, Joyce Fukata, and Tomomi Ida. Jason Paul was also honored but unable to attend the ceremony. Three other recipients of JNHS membership received their certificates earlier in the semester. Membership in the JNHS requires an overall GPA of 3.0 and 3.5 in Japanese classes. Congratulations to all of the new JNHA members and the best of luck in all future endeavors.
