College of Education: Doctoral Programs

Doctoral Programs

Managing Your Program

Taking a proactive role in managing your program will enable you to plan your courses, program requirements, and time accordingly. Students are assigned to an advisor and work closely with that person to ensure meeting program requirements and to be knowledgeable about the doctoral process which generally includes: coursework, proposal, comprehensive examination, dissertation, and oral examination.

Progress Forms

Student progress in the doctoral program is documented by the "Progress Form" which is completed and submitted by each student's advisor to the PhD in Education office. Students should work closely with their advisors to ensure they are meeting their program requirements. To facilitate submission of the forms, students may assist advisors by providing the forms.

Progress Form I: Preliminary Conference
Progress Form II: Admission to Candidacy
Progress Form III: Dissertation Committee
Progress Form IV: Approval of Dissertation Topic
Progress Form V: Results of Comprehensive Examination
Progress Form VI: Final Examination
Progress Form VII: Judgment of Dissertation
