Accreditation
University and College:
The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). UH-M’s College of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
Counselor Education Programs:
The curriculum in the School Counseling specialization is accredited (till 2008) by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling Related Educational Programs (CACREP), and meets certification requirements of the Hawaii Department of Education.
The specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling is accredited (until 2009) by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). The curriculum in the rehabilitation specialization enables graduates to obtain Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification.
The curriculum for the Community Counseling is also accredited (till 2008) by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The specialization meets suggested licensure requirements (effective July 1, 2005) as described at http://www.hawaii.gov/dcca/areas/pvl/programs/mental/.
