About the University

Located in Honolulu’s beautiful Mānoa Valley, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is the major campus of the state’s ten-campus university system. Degree Benefits: If you hold a State of Hawai‘i Department of Education basic teaching certificate, an M.Ed. in Educational Foundations qualifies you for professional certification. Many of the courses in the program apply to the Doctor’s program in Educational Foundations.

Admission Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited US college or university or its equivalent from a recognized foreign institution of higher learning. Complete eligibility information will be provided in the admission/registration packet.

Application/Registration Deadlines: Participants must apply by March 1, 2004. Application should be submitted online. They are available on the UH Graduate Division Web site: www.hawaii.edu/graduatestudies. For further details on electronic application, please click here. Upon acceptance into the program, register by May 1, 2004 in order to receive reading and other assignments prior to June 14, 2004, the first day of the on-campus phase of the program.

Housing: University and East-West Center housing facilities are available to students for the summer on-campus portions of this program. Facilities range from traditional residence halls to contemporary apartment units with one and two bedrooms. Residence halls offer recreation and study areas. Complete information on campus housing options will be provided in the admissions/registration packet. Please contact the University of Hawai‘i Student Housing Office at (808) 956-8177 or the East-West Center Housing Office at (808) 944-7960.

Meal Plan/Cooking Facilities: A meal plan is available through the University of Hawai‘i. The East-West Center has shared kitchen facilities.
