Mo‘o Computer Lab

The Mo‘o computer lab is located in the back corner of the CRC (Curriculum Resource Center Wist Hall 134) and is available on a drop-in basis to students enrolled in College of Education courses. The lab provides College of Education students with access to computing resources to work on class projects outside of class time. The lab is staffed for a majority of the day by a Mo‘o lab assistant who will be able to assist users with using the labs resources.

User account

It is required that you have a Mo‘o user account before starting to work in the Mo‘o lab. Existing users should note that Mo‘o user accounts are deactivated at the end of each semester for those not enrolled in a College of Education class in the coming semester. If this is the first time you are using the lab this semester please allow time in your schedule to create your Mo‘o user account.

Resources available

  • Macintosh computers—3 (microphone & earphones, CD-R, USB near front of computer, Firewire (6 pin) located at rear)
  • Macintosh computer—1 (earphones, CD-R/ DVD-R, USB near front of computer, Firewire (6-pin) located at rear)
  • Windows computers—5 (microphone & earphones, CD-R, USB & 4-pin Firewire near front of computer)
  • Windows computers—2 (microphone & earphones, CD-R/DVD-R, USB & 4-pin Firewire near front of computer)
  • Available software
  • Flatbed scanners—2
  • Black and white laser printer-1 (see the Mo‘o user pdfguidelines for print quota information)
  • UH-Wireless network coverage (UH wireless instructions)

Mo‘o Lab Assistant

The Mo‘o lab assistant's desk is located next to the printer in the Mo‘o lab. The assistant is available to help with using the resources in the lab (software applications… such as Chalk and Wire, scanning, saving your work etc..). Users are responsible for bringing your own storage media.

The Mo‘o lab assistant is also the person to speak with in order to create your Mo‘o user account. Which you will need in order to use the computers in the Mo‘o lab. See the Mo‘o user pdfguidelines.

Mo‘o lab assistant hours:

Fall 2005

  • Monday 9am - 8pm
  • Tuesday 8am - 8pm
  • Wednesday 9am - 8pm
  • Thursday 9am - 8pm
  • Friday 8am - 4pm

MSDNAA

Students participating in the College of Education’s MSDNAA CD exchange program may exchange their CD's with the Mo‘o lab assistant.*

Please follow the steps outlined on the COE MSDNAA page.

*Currently the Institute for Teacher Education (ITE) is the only College of Education department participating in this program.

Wireless Printing

Students that have laptops meeting the following criteria may chose to setup their computers for wireless printing through the Mo‘o computer lab printer.

Requirements:

  • Connection to UH Wireless network (UH wireless instructions)
  • Windows XP Professional
  • Mo‘o user account

ITE Emergency Laptop Loaners

This service will be for students participating in the ITE Laptop initiative only.
