The mission of Teach the Dream is to promote an undergraduate experience that is personal, empowering and applicable by providing real-life teaching experiences in the K-12 classroom that are culturally relevant and validating.

The objectives of Teach the Dream are to:

• Expose undergraduate students to diverse disciplines and interdisciplinary courses related to ethnic and cultural studies
• Provide direct service-learning opportunities for undergraduate students to teach in underserved Hawai`i public schools
• Recruit undergraduate students into undergraduate and graduate schools in the field of education and social sciences and the teaching profession
• Provide role models to youth so that they are encouraged to pursue a college education
• Achieve a deeper understanding among in-service teachers and youth of a critical and multicultural history that reflects the diversity of Hawai`i and our nation.
