Release Time for Research
The standard load for faculty in the College of Education is 12 credit hours of teaching. Generally faculty are given a 3 credit course load reduction for conducting research. In some cases new faculty, or faculty working on projects for the Dean's Office, are given a further 3 credit course reduction on a temporary basis. Beyond these, course reductions are possible through buying out time through funded projects, so long as all courses in the department are covered effectively through salary savings.
