Our Mission

In responding to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Strategic Plan (2002 – 2010), the College of Education Office of International Education seeks to:

1. Expand leadership in international affairs, emphasizing Hawai‘i, Asia, and the Pacific.
   
2. Recruit students from Asia, the Pacific, and around the world.
   
3. Advance stable, peaceful, prosperous, and democratic relations in the region by being an international center of learning and exchange.

In advancing these objectives, the Office of International Education promotes:

• Faculty and student research, teaching, and exchange with other international and domestic educational institutions
  
• Professional devealopment and educational enrichment programs for international students both short-term and long-term
  
• Collaborative international research
  
• Visits, Lectures, and Seminars involving international colleagues and students
  
• Global awareness and trans-cultural competence in the College of Education
