The Hawai'i Cooperative Fishery Research Unit

The Hawai'i Cooperative Fishery Research Unit (HCFRU), an adjunct of the University of Hawai'i Zoology Department, is part of the nation-wide Cooperative Research Units Program. HCFRU is sponsored by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, and the Hawai'i State Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR). Facilities include a small laboratory, field equipment, vehicles and small craft. HCFRU personnel include Dr. Jim Parrish (leader), Chuck Birkeland (assistant leader), their graduate students, and staff support Kerwin Lum.
