Distribution: The English name of this plant species is "basket grass." Its Marshallese name indicates that it came from Ep (Yap), a ledgendary island. This native of tropical America is an alien species in the Marshall Islands introduced by people. It is presently found growing on Mājro, Arņo, Jālooj, and Epoon.
Uses: Wūjooj-in-Ep has medicinal uses.
