Karen Lowe has been an events coordinator at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa for the past five years. As a senior events coordinator, Karen's role is to produce free public events that attract visitors from all walks of life, and with that increase visitation to the museum, provide that extra experience for the visitor and boost the commercial viability of Te Papa. The events are created to speak to and help leverage Te Papa's current exhibitions.
Karen has a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a double major in linguistics and anthropology, from the Victoria University of Wellington, and a DipTEFL from the International Learning Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Karen has 9 years' experience in events and festivals since 1997. She is also mother of 19-month-old Jakob.
