Mid-Pacific Institute is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades K-12 located in Mānoa Valley in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. The Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts is the only member of the International Network of Performing and Visual Arts Schools in the Pacific Basin. Preprofessional arts training is available in six disciplines: dance, dance/hula, theatre arts, visual arts, media, and instrumental music. The students of the dance and dance/hula programs have been invited to perform at the National High School Dance Festival for several years. The students who will be performing at the Culture Moves! conference in November are currently enrolled in the School of the Arts dance and hula classes. Also attending will be kumu hula Michael Lanakila Casupang, dance instructor Ka‘ohi Yojo, and School of the Arts dance director Yukie Shiroma.
