Retired East-West Center Art Administrator William (Bill) Feltz has graciously donated a priced Tinalak weaving to the Center for Philippine Studies. CPS Director Jojo Abinales, Ric Trimillos and Fred Magdalena received the donation. Tinalak is a specially woven fabric by the T’boli tribe in Mindanao, Philippines usually from abaca. Weaving is a specialty of T’boli women who are known for their sense of beauty and nature, reflected in the intricate artistry of Tinalak.
