Hawaii Filipino Centennial Conference
Conference Accommodations Program Abstracts INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE HAWAII FILIPINO CENTENNIAL This Conference is a once-in-a-lifetime event for Filipinos, Americans of Filipino ancestry, friends and others. So don't pass up this opportunity. Come to Honolulu on December 13-17, 2006, interact with people and share ideas with them. (The deadline for the call for papers, however, has lapsed.) More...
Waste no time and learn about the Filipinos in Hawaii (or generally, in the United States) since the first group known as sakadas, or contract workers, came in 1906 and followed by a growing tide of immigrants. Email Fred Magdalena at fm@hawaii.edu for details on the conference.

Ala Moana Beach Park is where tourists and locals take a refreshing dip at the ocean, stroll or jog around, or watch the sun set after a hectic day of work. Reserve now...

Honolulu is a major attraction for tourists around the world, hence it sometimes runs out of bedspace for transients. Besides Ala Moana Hotel, there are other alternative places in nearby Waikiki, which offer decent accommodations. Most of these hotels are just minutes away by bus or taxi from or to the conference site.
For more info on accommodation, please contact Ms. Clemen Montero at cps@hawaii.edu.
The conference runs from December 13 through 17, 2006, at Ala Moana Hotel. Paper, video and other presentations are scheduled on December 14-15, 2006. More...
