The HCF Scholarship program consists of more than 85 different funds established by private foundations,
generous individuals, businesses and organizations. In 2003 alone, it awarded more than $3 million in scholarship grants to 1,200 Hawai`i students. Two kinds of
grants are of special interest to Filipino-American students: Ambassador Minerva Jean Falcon Hawai'i Scholarship
and Dr. Cora Aguda Manayan Fund.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The UH General and Graduate Information
Catalog lists the complete admission requirements for both undergraduate
and graduate education. However, prospective applicants are advised to consult
the appropriate colleges, schools, departments, or programs since they may have
special admission policies.
Generally, the requirements for admission to the
undergraduate level are: payment of a $40 nonrefundable, nontransferable
application fee, submission of official scores from the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT-I)
or American College Test (ACT), high school transcripts, and letters of recommendations from school
officials. Application forms are available at the Admissions and Records Office,
2600 Campus Road, Honolulu, HI 96822. The application is also available online (
http://apply.hawaii.edu). Applications are valid only for the semester indicated.
Applications for the fall semester are accepted between September 1 and June 1; for the Spring
semester between June 1 and November 1. Some schools and programs may have earlier deadlines.
Applicants for advanced or graduate degree programs must hold a bachelor's degree
from an accredited U.S. college or university or its equivalent from a recognized foreign
institution. The application requirements include: application form and fee, official
transcript from all post secondary institutions attended sent directly to the UHM Graduate Division,
official TOEFL or IELTS score report, verification of financial status for foreign applicants,
GRE General test or GMAT. Other requirements may include letters of recommendation and samples of work (slides,
manuscripts, or tapes) if required by the field of study.
