Agroforestry Program in East Timor
In partnership with the United States Agency for International Development and the East Timor Ministry of Agriculture, the University's College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) has an active agroforesty program in East Timor, focusing on agricultural rehabilitation, economic growth, and natural resources management. Workshop on East Timor
The Center for Southeast Asian Studies, in partnership with the United States - East Timor Scholarship Program and the East-West Center, sponsored a workshop on East Timor in November 2003. The workshop featured seminars presented by East Timorese students at the University of Hawaii and covered the economy and the reconciliation Process in East Timor, thoughts on education
issues, economic and social questions in the Atsabe District, issues with respect to the East Timor legal system, building an effective judiciary in East Timor, and an analysis of the civil service of East Timor and History and a presentation by Kirsty Sword Gusmão, author of A Woman of Independence.
