Hye-sun Cho is a doctoral candidate in the Second Language Acquisition Program in the Department of Second Language Studies (SLS) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM). She received a M.A. degree in ESL and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in SLS from UHM. Before coming to Hawaii, she worked as an English teacher in public secondary schools in Seoul, Korea for about five years upon graduating from Korea University (B.A. in English Language Education). In addition to teaching CLEAR seminars at CSLR, She taught undergraduate courses (SLS 380 Bilingual Education and SLS 418 Instructional Media) in the Dept. of SLS. Her interests include academic literacies, multiliteracies, critical literacy pedagogy, L2 literacy assessment, technology-mediated language learning, the education of language minority students, and language teacher development.
