I
was born in central Vietnam and grew up in Philadelphia where I attended
third through twelfth grades. I hold a B.A. in English/Creative Writing
from Hamilton College in upstate New York and both an M.A. in English
and an M.A. in ESL from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. Currently,
I am a Ph.D. candidate in English at UHM. Since 2000, I have been working
with K-12 and postsecondary students via various but interconnected roles
as a curriculum development coordinator, researcher, and teacher. Growing
up bilingual and bicultural, I have a long-standing interest in the interconnectedness
of language, culture and knowledge. At present, I am interested in creative
writing, comparative Asia Pacific folklore and literature, and East-West
philosophy.
