The Students Transforming School documentary portrays a model high school program designed to promote academic success among linguistic/cultural minorities. Through classroom images and curriculum products teachers depict how students in the Studies of Heritage and Academic Languages and Literacies (SHALL) project experience heritage languages as resources; develop Academic English language and literacy abilities; and become active agents of change in their communities. This DVD offers teacher educators, administrators, and secondary school instructors an informative and inspirational illustration of the most up to date theoretical and practical approaches to transformative education.
