Perkins

The U.S. Congress overwhelmingly passed legislation that reauthorizes Carl D. Perkins funding in support of states' Career and Technical Education efforts. President Bush signed the bill into law, the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 (which will be often referred to as "Perkins IV"), on August 12, 2006.

Civil Rights

Under the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Right’s Guidelines for Vocational Education Programs (Voc Ed Guidelines), state career and technical education agencies are responsible for conducting certain civil rights compliance activities to eliminate discrimination in their sub-recipient schools and colleges. CTE Center devotes resources to assist schools, colleges, students, and parents in understanding education civil rights requirements.
