Program
Description
The University of
Hawai‘i Health Careers Opportunity Programs (HCOP) strives to build
diversity in the health work force by providing students from
socially, educationally, or economically disadvantaged background an
opportunity to develop the skills needed to successfully compete in,
enter, and graduate from health professions schools.
The goal of HCOP is to increase the number of
health professionals serving in areas of need in Hawai‘i and
the Pacific. HCOP provides an educational pipeline for
students to pursue health careers within the UH system. The
summer residential academic and health enrichment program
engages students in activities that stimulate learning
through problem-based learning, career exploration, and personal
developmental activities. |
