Office of Multicultural Student Services

Office of Multicultural Student Services (OMSS) employs UHM students to tutor immigrant children in public schools, motivate Filipino and other under-represented groups to attend higher education, and assist in coordinating and implementing outreach and research projects. These projects include summer elementary and middle school enrichment classes, a high school "Teaching As a Career" workshop/internship, a transfer student mentor program, and a university-based volunteer program. OMSS provides training, academic assistance and moral support to those it employs and to other minority students.
