The University of Hawaii System Diversity and Equity Initiative is a source of funding that awards up to $100,000 per year for proposals that address campus wide diversity goals. Proposals awarded provide research and program activities that foster mutual understanding, social interaction, and/or joint activities between two or more diverse groups in the University community. A system wide committee, consisting of representatives from the Community Colleges, West O'ahu, Hilo and Manoa review proposals from October to April. The Vice President for Student Affairs and the Office of Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity (SEED) provide administrative support for the Diversity and Equity Initiative.
