Building a diverse and educated workforce in Hawaiʻi is critical to sustaining our island communities in the 21st century

What We Do

The Graduate Professional Access Program (GPA) is one of nine programs administered by the Office of Student Equity Excellence and Diversity (SEED) at UH Mānoa. Programs under the SEED umbrella benefit from the synergies created by seamless activities that ensure an inclusive and supportive environment at the university. Student access to achieve doctoral degrees is extended through GPA partnerships with institutions across the U.S. continent, federal government agencies, and non-profit organizations. GPA also collaborates closely with Health Careers Opportunities Program (HCOP) and the National Cancer Institute's Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness, Research and Training (AANCART). All programs address health disparities in the islands and provide a pathway for the advancement of students and faculty from underrepresented groups in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields.
