Mānoa Educational Talent Search (METS)

Mānoa Educational Talent Search, known as METS, offers college preparatory assistance to all enrolled Wai'anae and Nānākuli High School students living on O'ahu's Leeward Coast. METS students commit to developing skills that strengthen academic success and lead to college readiness. METS services are specially designed to target low-income areas with historically low rates of college participation.

Brighter Future

METS partners with the two Leeward Coast schools and works closely with families and community organizations to help students become college ready and realize the dream of a brighter future. The majority of METS students will be the first in their families to enter college after completing high school.  Funded by a U.S. Department of Education TRiO grant to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, METS currently offers services to over 500 student participants on the high school campuses of Wai'anae and Nānākuli.
