National Student Exchange (NSE) at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa

All placements for study away exchange through the National Student Exchange are administered by an NSE coordinator at your home campus. To locate the NSE office on your campus, please visit this link for more information.

If you are considering an exchange to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa for the 2017-2018 academic year, please note that we will primarily accept NSE students on Plan A, paying tuition and fees to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. A small number of Plan B placements may be accepted. All incoming students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA at their home campus.

Students can exchange to UHM for fall semester or the academic year only. No spring semester only exchanges are accepted.

Preference will be given to incoming NSE students with freshman or sophomore class standing in 2017-18. It is highly recommended that students not exceed 45 semester hours prior to exchange due to registration restrictions.

Registration restrictions:

  • UHM does not offer early registration and is unable to assist students with specific course needs.
  • ALL students must have extreme course flexibility as no assistance is available for course overrides or special registration.

If you have been accepted for National Student Exchange with the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, please review the link for Incoming Students above for admission, housing, dining, and health information needed for your exchange.
