Regents Scholarships

 

The Board of Regents established the Regents Scholarships to support students with a record of outstanding academic achievements. Twenty scholarships will be awarded every year. Each scholar will receive a tuition waiver and a stipend of $2000 per semester, plus a one-time travel grant of $2000 that must be used before graduation. The scholarship is renewable for a total term of eight consecutive semesters, providing that eligibility is maintained. Regents Scholars may enroll initially at any campus of the University of Hawai'i.

ELIGIBILITY: Students meeting all of the following qualifications may apply.

  1. Admitted as a classified full-time first-year student in the fall semester, seeking a degree in any course of study at any campus of the University of Hawai`i
  2. High school grade point average of at least 3.5 in academic subjects for grades 9 through 11
  3. SAT combined score of at least 1950 on all three sections of the test, or ACT combined score of at least 29
  4. Evidence of superior academic achievement or creative endeavor
  5. Record of academic co-curricular and community service activities
  6. Bona fide resident of Hawai`i for tuition purposes, at the time of application

Students enrolled in degree programs offered through distance education are not eligible and the award does not cover tuition and fees for any Outreach College programs or courses.
