|Course Description:||LAW 101 provides a general perspective of the legal system and a specific knowledge of the present and potential role of the legal paraprofessional within that system. Students will be exposed to the operations and structures of the court system, administrative agencies, private law firms, public sector law offices, legal clinics and pre-paid legal plans. Significant consideration will be given to
legal ethics in evaluating what tasks, skills, and role are now and may in the future be fulfilled by the legal paraprofessional in each

Students are required to have access to a reliable computer with high-speed Internet connection, access to Microsoft Word, access to the free Acrobat Reader, and email. To be successful in this class, students should have basic computer skills to open, save, upload and download files; basic knowledge of email and attachments; basic understanding of navigating the WWW; and a sprinkling of patience mixed in with a good attitude.
