Prerequisites: Business major or Department/instructor approval.
Completion of, or concurrent enrollment in, ENG 100 or ENG 21 or
ENG 22 or equivalent with a grade of C or better or equivalent and approval
of the instructor. Additional requirements by the University of Hawai‘i,
Leeward Community College Business Division: (1) completion of 12 or more
credits in the Leeward CC Business Technology Division in order to assess
job skills, (2) enrolled in a Business Technology program of study, (3) full- or
part-time student enrolled at Leeward CC, (4) a student in good academic
standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0, and (5)
eligible for employment—U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the
Cooperative Education provides practical career-related work
experience through a program used nationally in colleges and
universities to apply classroom knowledge and to develop job
competencies. Full-time or part-time work in private and public
sectors of the business, government and industrial communities is
utilized for this program. The number of credits earned depends upon
the number of hours spent at the job station during the semester.
The Internet allows students to take a course at home using a personal computer. Familiarity with using a computer and basic Internet skills (browsing, sending e-mail, saving/sending files) is required. Students must have a computer with Internet access. Depending on the online course, students may be required to log in at a specific day and time or at anytime. Students taking an online course should always contact their instructor after registration or prior to the first day of class to get detailed information regarding the course.

BUSN 193V (V=VARIABLE) can be taken for 1,2,3,or 4 credits. One credit (1) is also known as (AKA) BUSN 193B and requires a minimum of 60 work hours:
two credits (2) is (AKA) BUSN 193C and requires a minimum of 120 work hours; three credits (3) is (AKA) BUSN 193D and requires a minimum of 180 work
hours; and four credit (4) is (AKA) BUSN 193E and requires a minimum of 240 work hours. Business Technology (BTEC) majors are required to take BUSN
193V for 2 credits. Accounting and Management majors should talk with their counselors before taking BUSN 193V to ensure that they sign up for the correct
number of credits.
This ONLINE section (CRN 55140) is RESTRICTED to employed students in the Federal SCEP Program and/or students that have taken the "in person" section
at least once. NO EXCEPTIONS.
