Schedule Notes: Course is 50% cable and 50% online.
Course Requirements: This is a teleweb course via Oceanic Cable, also using the UH System Laulima web site, the HCC server, or a combination. Access to email and web browser are required. Before the first day of instruction, email your instructor that you have registered for the course. The starting point for the class is

Course Prerequisites: Recommended Prep: Placement in ENG 22/60
Course Description: Social and individual values, obligations, rights, and responsibilities. The application of ethical theory to and deliberation on contemporary ethical controversies.
Textbooks: Books may be purchased at the Honolulu CC bookstore or ordered online at http://www.bookstore.hawaii.edu/hcc/home.aspx. If you do not have access to the Internet or unable to travel to the bookstore, you may also order by phone at 1-800-UHBOOKS
Technical Requirements: Cable allows students to take a course at home. To enroll in a cable course, students must subscribe to Oceanic Cable to view the higher education access channel:

Oahu County: Olelo channel 55
Maui County: MCCTV channel 55
Hawaii County: Na Leo O Hawaii channel 55
Kauai County: Hoike channel 55

Before registering for the course, prospective students should check with their cable provider or programming line-up to verify they can view the education cable access channel at their home. If student resides in a region of their county that is unable to receive the educational cable access channel listed above, the student should not register for this course via cable.

It is required that students also have basic internet skills, an email address and access to a computer with Internet connection to communicate with instructor and classmates. It is recommended that students videotape the broadcasts of their class sessions in case they are unable to view them during the scheduled broadcast time. Students should be familiar with setting the timer on their VCR to record.
