Course Prerequisites: Placement at ENG 100.
Course Description: Integrates natural science concepts basic to the study of human nutrition. Emphasizes nutrient requirements of healthy individuals, nutirent categories and characteristics, physiological functions, and food sources. Includes review and adaptation of dietary practices to reflect current nutritional issues.

Technical Requirements: The Internet allows students to take a course at home using a personal computer. Depending on the online course, students may be required to log in at a specific day and time or at anytime. Minimum Computer Hardware/Software Requirements:
PC with Windows 98, NT, 2000 or XP or a Macintosh II running System 9. Netscape Navigator 7.0 or higher, or Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher; a 56k modem connection (DSL or Roadrunner recommended); an e-mail client; word procession software (e.g. Microsoft Word/Works, Clarisworks, etc.); and basic internet skills (browsing, sending email, saving/sending files.
