| Course Description: | Discovers and applies the concepts of purpose, audience, and tone in writing. Emphasizes interpreting and evaluating essays, writing expository, interpretive reflections, and essays arguing for action or solutions to problems.

| Technical Requirements: | This interactive video (ITV) course is delivered using the UH Hawaii Interactive Television Service 2 (HITS2). It allows students to attend the course at a SPECIFIC DAYS/TIME and CAMPUS other than the campus where the instructor originates the course. Therefore, distance learners must attend each class session at the SPECIFIC DAYS/TIME and SPECIFIC CAMPUS listed above.
Course also includes an online component. Familiarity with using a computer and basic Internet skills (browsing, sending e-mail, saving/sending files) is required. Students must have a computer with Internet access and a UH email account.
