Schedule Notes: This is an online course offered via Laulima. After registering for the course, students may access the class at https://laulima.hawaii.edu. Students are required to use their UH account (username@hawaii.edu) for the duration of the course.
Course Prerequisites: Sophomore standing or consent required for all 300-level courses.
Course Description: Examines WWII as a watershed in American and Hawaii history and culture. Topics include: Pearl Harbor, Japanese-American internment, sex and racial tensions, Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust, and the dawn of the Atomic Age.
Textbooks: No textbooks required. Instructor will post all readings.
Technical Requirements: The Internet allows students to take a course at home using a personal computer. Familiarity with using a computer and basic Internet skills (browsing, sending e-mail, saving/sending files) is required. Students must have a computer with Internet access. Depending on the online course, students may be required to log in at a specific day and time or at anytime. Students taking an online course should always contact their instructor after registration or prior to the first day of class to get detailed information regarding the course.

Additional Notes: Tuition for extension term classes is charged per credit and is NOT included in Fall/Spring semester tuition. Students receiving UH Manoa financial aid should contact Financial Aid Services (808-956-7251 or finaid@hawaii.edu) before registering for extension term classes to assure that their financial aid package will cover these classes.
