Course Prerequisites: 100- or any 200-level SOC course or junior standing, or consent.
Course Description: Causes, processes, and effects of social change, using single- and multi-cause models in simple and complex industrialized societies.
Textbooks: Books may be purchased at the UH Manoa bookstore or ordered online at http://www.bookstore.hawaii.edu/manoa/home.aspx. If you do not have access to the Internet or unable to travel to the bookstore, you may also order by phone at 1-800-UHBOOKS
Technical Requirements: The Internet allows students to take a course at home using a personal computer. Depending on the online course, students may be required to log in at a specific day and time or at anytime. Students taking an online course should always contact their instructor after registration or prior to the first day of class to get detailed information regarding the course.

Must have basic internet skills (browsing, sending email, saving/sending files).

Additional Notes: Tuition for extension term classes is charged per credit and is NOT included in Fall/Spring semester tuition. Students receiving UH Manoa financial aid should contact Financial Aid Services (808-956-7251 or finaid@hawaii.edu) before registering for extension term classes to assure that their financial aid package will cover these classes.
