|Course Description:||ED 276 introduces students to integrating technology in the classroom to enhance standards-based teaching and learning. This course provides hands-on experience with computer and Internet applications such as productivity software (word processors, spreadsheet managers, database managers, presentation programs), Web 2.0 tools (blogs, image sharing sites, social networking services, presentation and digital storytelling tools, etc.) and emerging technologies. Internet resources and their
use in educational settings are addressed. Universal design for learning principles and assistive technologies both hardware and software that are commonly used by students with disabilities in the classroom will also be covered.

Students must purchase Simnet Online's MS Office 2010 registration suite for about $80. Purchase info to be given by the instructor in the first week of class. Purchases to be made directly online, not through the bookstore, since this is an online course.
Students must have access to a computer with Internet connection.
