| Course Description: | This course is the second half of a standard one-year course in elementary algebra. Topics to be covered include exponents, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions and equations, radical expressions and equations, Pythagorean Theorem, and quadratic equations. |

| Technical Requirements: | Cable allows students to take a course at home. To enroll in a cable course, students must subscribe to Oceanic Time Warner Cable to view the higher education access channel:

If student resides in a region of their county that is unable to receive the educational cable access channel listed above, the student should not register for this course via cable. It is recommended that students videotape the broadcast of their class sessions in case they are unable to view it during the scheduled broadcast time. Students should be familiar with setting the timer on their VCR or DVR to record. It is recommended that students review the Tips for Cable Students http://www.hawaii.edu/dlus/UHTV/tips.html Course also includes an online component. Familiarity with using a computer and basic Internet skills (browsing, sending e-mail, saving/sending files) is required. Students must have a computer with Internet access and a UH email account.
