Course Restrictions: Open to students on the island of Maui only. Course includes a required lab on the Kahului campus.
Course Prerequisites: ENG 19 with grade of C or better or placement at least ENG 22, or consent
Course Description: Prepares nurse assistants to care for acute, semi-acute, or convalescent clients in the hospital, long-term care, or home setting. Prepares nurse assistant to work under the supervision of a registered or practical nurse. Serves as a beginning level health care course for those interested in the health care field. Prepares nurse assistants for national certification.

Technical Requirements: Cable allows students to take a course at home. To enroll in a cable class, students must have subscription to Oceanic Time Warner Cable.

- Tune to channel 55 to view your cable class broadcasts

Note: Before registering for the class, prospective students should check with their cable provider or programming line-up to verify they can view the education cable access channel at their home. If student resides in a region of their county that is unable to receive the educational cable access channel listed above, the student should not register for this cable class.

It is recommended that students record the broadcast of their class sessions in case they are unable to view it during the scheduled broadcast time. Students should be familiar with setting the timer on their VCR or DVR to record. For more tips go online at:

Cable class may include an online component. Familiarity with using a computer and basic Internet skills (browsing, sending e-mail, saving/sending files) is required.
