UHTV Programming

UHTV Logo

UHTV represents University of Hawaii distance learning programs delivered via cable television. Distributed Learning and User Services (DLUS) coordinates and distributes UHTV programming to educational cable access channels statewide. As part of their cable franchise agreement, all commercial cable companies in Hawaii`i provide public access channels for educational programming.

Distance Learning Cable Courses
The University of Hawaii system provides a number of cable courses. Cable courses are live or taped. Students are able to attend a class in the convenience of their home by tuning into their local educational access channel. To enroll in a cable course, UH students must have access to one of the following educational access channels:

Island
Educational Access Channel

Hawaii
Hilo, Mountain View, Honokaa, Kona

Na Leo O Hawaii channel 55

Kauai

Ho'ike: Kauai Community Television channel 55

Maui, Molokai, Lanai

MCCTV channel 55

Oahu
not available in the Ko Olina district

Olelo channel 55

If you are not sure you can receive one of the access channels listed above, please check your cable programming line-up or call Oceanic Turner Warner Cable. If you are not an UH student but interested in enrolling in a cable course, please contact the UH campus nearest you or visit the UH Distance Learning web site for further information.

Educational Programming
Other programming include: 1) non-credit and informational shows produced locally by UH for lifelong learning and 2) educational material from Annenberg/CPB Channel, and the Research Channel .
