We recommend that if you are using America Online (AOL) for your web access use a stand-alone compatible version of either Netscape or Internet Explorer instead of AOL's built-in browser. You can install either of these browsers by downloading from our Hawaii.edu site:
For best results when using AOL read the following settings under the header for "If you use AOL..." <http://webct.com/exchange/viewpage?name=exchange_browser_tuneup#settings>.
Depending how the instructor has the registration set, you will either need an INITIAL ID and password sent to you from the professor, or if the course is considered set for "self registration" you can add yourself to the course using your myWebCT Account ID and password.
A myWebCT Account will act like a folder containing all courses you will take at UH in WebCT (you only need a SINGLE account). An account must be created prior to accessing any course whether it be set for non-self registration or self registration.
You can change your password by using the password settings link located in the black menu bar within your myWebCTaccount.
Create a myWebCT Account by going to the main UH WebCT log in site <http://webct.hawaii.edu>, under the header for "First Time Users", select to "Create myWebCT". You need to create this account only ONCE for all courses you will take at UH using WebCT.
This account acts like a folder containing all courses you will take in WebCT. You can access all your courses within this account with the use of a single ID and password which you create.
WebCT requires that you have a myWebCT account in order to add and access any WebCT course at UH.
Depending on how an instructor set the course for student access there are a couple ways in which one can add a course to your account.
Either way add a course to your myWebCT account by using the Add Course link inside your myWebCT Account. If you are adding a course that is NOT set for self registration you will need to contact the instructor for the initial user name and password.
To log out of WebCT select the "Logout" link located in the top brown menu bar in the course or the top black menu bar in your myWebCT Account.
