Q. Is there an easy way to print out the course notes?

Click on Take Notes icon located inside the course content section you want to print your notes from. Select View All, then use your browsers File Print command to print the notes.

Q. How do I navigate around in my WebCT course?

Navigating through a WebCT course is done through the use of various course menus.

Q. How do I print pages from my WebCT course?

You need to utilize your browsers print function. Once your are at the spot in which you want to print, then from your browser's menu, click on File and select Print.

Q. How do I download pages from my WebCT course?

Open the page you want to download, go to File in your browser's menu, not the WebCT menu. Click on "SAVE AS" function or "Save Target as", select an area on your computer in which you want to save the file, click OK.

Q. I see more than one set of navigation buttons (back, forward, etc.). Which ones do I use?

You should use the navigational menus within WebCT and not your browser's back and forward buttons. Check out the section for Navigating.

Q. How can I find all the pages which contain information related to a particular subject or keyword?

You can use the Search icon to find pages related to the topic you are looking for, only if the instructor has chosen to add this feature to their course. If a Search icon has been made available, click on the icon to open a window with a Search and Contains query sections. Pull down the menu to select an area in which you want to search, then enter a search term in the Contain text box. Click Search.

Note: the search tool can only search text. This means that it cannot scan the contents of images or any PowerPoint presentations that your instructor may have included in the course.

Q. Is there a way to start reading the lesson notes today at the spot I stopped reading the last time I logged on?

A menu Bar is located at the top of your course account that gives you constant access to elements such as myWebCT, Resume Course, Course Map, and Help, view image below. Clicking on Resume Course will allow you to resume your place in the Content Module.

Q. One of the icons on a menu page in my course has a bright green starburst around it. What does it mean?

When new messages have been posted/added/or received there will be a bright starburst around the icon.

Q. If I link to an external source, outside of WebCT, how do I get back?

If a link to an external source takes you out of WebCT, use your browser's Back button to return to your WebCT course. You will not have to re-enter your password. Be sure to use the WebCT navigation tools once you have returned to the WebCT system.
