UHTV Programming

UHTV Logo

UHTV represents University of Hawaii distance learning programs delivered via cable television. Academic Technologies (AT) coordinates and distributes UHTV programming to educational cable access channels statewide. As part of their cable franchise agreement, all commercial cable companies in Hawaii`i provide public access channels for educational programming.

Cable Courses
The University of Hawaii system provides a number of cable classes . Cable classes are live or taped. Students are able to attend a class in the convenience of their home by tuning into their local educational access channel. If you are not a UH student but interested in enrolling in a cable class, please contact the UH campus nearest you or visit the UH Distance Learning web site for further information.

Educational Programming
Other programming include: 1) non-credit and informational shows produced locally by UH for lifelong learning and 2) educational material from the University of Washington's UWTV .

Technical Requirements

  • Must be an Oceanic Time Warner Cable subscriber. UHTV programming is not available on satellite TV systems.

  • Oceanic Time Warner Cable Digital TV subscribers may view UHTV programming on channel 355.

  • Oceanic Time Warner Cable Standard or Basic TV subscribers
    • that own an HD Television with a QAM tuner, may view UHTV programming on channel 46.55.

    • that do not have an HD Television, may contact the Oceanic Cable Customer Service Center at (808) 643-2100 to find out how to get a digital cable box free of charge for so long as you maintain your existing analog service subscription.     • Important Note for Maui County Viewers: UHTV programming is on channel 55 only.
