13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

Jung is extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter and tries to make an otherwise boring subject at least somewhat interesting.

JUng is a great teacher and funny and knows his information very well... He made me laugh a lot!!

Jung is great! He's funny and makes pretty fun powerpoints. He has an overall positive attitude with a relateable sense of humor!

Very Knowledgeable in this subject. Gives good advice on how to study, and look at things.

He is entertaining and very straightforward. There's no guessing.

HE KNOWS THE SUBJECT WELL AND TEACHES IT IN A MANNER WHERE WE ARE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND IT FOR THE LONG RUN.

14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

Why oh why does this class need to be on Friday after lunch?! Terrible time for brains to learn something. This material is basically a memorize your way to an A type of class. If you are good and memorizing you can get an A. I AM NOT GOOD AT MEMORIZING. I wish that there was another way to show our compentency other than a multiple choice exam.

NONE, I HONESTLY I LIKE THE PRE QUIZES HE GIVES US. IT DOES STRESS US AS STUDENTS A LITTLE BUT I THINK ITS GOOD AND HELPS WITH OUR LEARNING. I ALSO LIKE THE POST QUIZES BECAUSE IT CHALLENGES US ON THE THINGS WE HAVE JUST LEARNED.

He's approachable and is always there.

ALWAYS AVAILABLE BEFORE/AFTER AND IN BETWEEN CLASSES. HE IS WILLING TO ADJUST HIS SCHEDULE TO HELP WITH THE STUDENTS. EX: CHANGE EXAM DATES AND TIMES TO HELP US OUT. "THANKS"

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

MMMmmmm. Yes for the personality. That's his best attribute. I don't know what he could do to make the material stick in my head. Maybe memorization tricks. I dunno. But I like him lots...just don't like the pharm.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

Prof. Kim knew the subject matter very well and explained each subject well. He made class fun by adding humor to his lectures to enhance the lecture and not make it so tiresome. Prof. Kim also encouraged the students to participate in the lectures by asking us questions relating to the things that were being explained in class.

Some of his strengths is that he is passionate about his work. He discusses the material very throughly and makes sure the major points are covered.

Definitely knows the subject material. Approachable, pays attention to students, & always available for questions. Tried making the subject fun to make learning both easier & enjoyable.

He didn't help us understand the material, he just read it from the board. needs new teaching style. he knew what he was teaching but didnt know how to teach it

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

He let us know when quizzes and exams were coming up and made it sure that we were fully prepared for them. He also made it known that he was available in his office to discuss those grades from the exams.

He would pull them off to the side after class, like he did for me after a lecture, showing me that he was concerned with my previous test score.

He made it very clear at the beginning of the semester that he would be accessible through email, in his office, and after class. He encouraged all of his students to come and see him about any questions.

Professor Kim is a very enthusiastic and engaging teacher. The very first class he went over the expectations of the class and expressed his desire for all of us to succeed. He told us that in order to succeed we need to work hard but to have FUN doing it...that's where real learning happens.

Wonderful personality. Cares about his students. Very knowledgeable.

Best teacher of my KCC experience. He is clear and concise about what is to be learned.

He knew the subject he was teaching very well. He has a funny/happy personality and made every one in the class smile. He made the class fun and exciting. He explained things very well and always helped us with whatever questions we had.

He made the assignments very simple and clear and if we had any questions he was able to answer them.

He tries to make it a fun atmosphere for students and he knows the subject well.

His teaching approach is straightforward and very clear. He helps if we need it. He gives us more than one chance to pass the disection quizzes.

The physiology questions on the exams were surprising many times. I wish he would have included exam components that were only dealt with thoroughly in the class.he

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

Like I said before, Professor Kim really wanted us all to succeed in his class. He took time to answer all questions that were asked of him. In the STEM center he was always available to help us identify parts of the models and engaging us in the experiments.

Made himself available if we ever needed him and listened to all our concerns.

I figured he was a very observant teacher. He was aware of the students' characters very well, which helped every individual to be on track.

Yes, I would defiantly recommend Professor Kim. He is a positive, upbeat, and funny person who seems to really enjoy his job!!

Professor Kim's major strengths as a teacher is that he make sures that the students know their material. He's prepares ahead of class and make sures he knows what to teach his class. His power point slides along with his lectures helped me!

I dont like the fact that we have to take quizzes that lowers our grade before we get the clarifying lecture. I dont understand what the book says, I learn better from the lecture.

Give us more a better idea of what you want for the bigger projects earlier. I wasn't sure what he wanted on the paper or presentation until the last minute.

WHY WHY WHY are we getting quized before the material can be presented?! WHY WHY WHY?! It makes no sense to anyone. Also... I didn't know the grading criteria for the presentations. Maybe if we were given a layout or check list.

He is well knowledgable about this subject area and I feel like he really does care about his students. I have had some teachers where they are only teaching because they have nothing else to do but Dr. Kim teaches because he loves to and that really does make a big difference in the effort I put in as a student.

Professor Kim knows his subject really well and presents his material in a way that is helpful and easy to understand.

Professor Kim has many strengths as a teacher. He is very knowledgable in the subject matter. Although the course covers a lot of material he is specific to what needs to be learned. Jung Eun Kim's strength as a teacher would have to be the way he keeps all his students up in class. What I mean is that he makes class enojoyable and this helps me learn the subject even better.

He knew the subject well, you can tell he has experience teaching. Kim's teaching methods made learning material easy to follow, and understand. He is also very enthusiatic when he teaches, so paying attention is easy.

Material is presented clearly. He is up-to-date with how to post assignments and lectures online. This is extremely helpful. He is reasonable and understanding. He rewards those who come to every class, however if you are a busy person, you're grade is based on if you know the material. That's how it should be. He is really good at making lectures that highlight the really important things you need to take from the text. This class is not a guessing game. He is clear about when things are due and what you need to know. Great sense of humor.

His knowledge of the subject. A&P is not the easiest subject to grasp, but I felt that Mr. Kim did everything he could to make sure that we understood. There are some teachers that seem like they either don't know what they're doing or just go through the motions of teaching. Mr. Kim's knowledge and willingness to help everyone is a big reason why I did fairly better than I expected myself to do.

If i had to choose something to improve on it would be the timing of chapter outlines. I felt like the chapter outlines could have been sent out a few days earlier before class. It would give us a little more time to study and read before we go over everything in class. But that is pretty minor, his class was great.

I think he needs to make the students interact and get more involved. I'm the type of person that learns better when involved in the process. Granted he did try (and it didn't go so well), but just force students to maybe get into groups to discuss the topic at hand. I don't think he needs to do this all the time, but just every so often to change it up and not just have the students sit and listen to lecture.

He asked questions and how we were doing that day.

For me personally, if I didn't do my best on an exam I would go into his office and we would review the answers I got wrong and if I didn't understand why I got it wrong he would sit there and explain it to me until I did.

He was always available to get in contact with, plus grades were always posted throughout the semester.

He made sure to always be on time, also by being lenient and easy going to students who may have forgotten to complete a quiz.

By always asking if students had any questions and having office hours where students could learn what they did wrong on exams and why. Professor Kim was always available to answer any questions I may have had about course material.

He showed concern for his students by telling us that we are welcomed to see him in his office when we have a question and he would be glad to sit there and explain it to us. This showed a lot of concern because it showed that he was a teacher willing to help us instead of making us figure it out on our own and doing bad on the tests. He also congratulates us as a class after each test we take and that shows me that he cares how his students are doing throughout the whole semester with him. And by doing this is encourages me, as a student, to try my hardest for him to show him that all his teaching has payed off and that it was not a waste of his time.

I didn't feel like just one of the countless number of students of his. He knew us all by name, and when I asked for a meeting, he would make one asap.

After taking role, Mr. Kim always asked how we were doing both in and out of class. There were some people who shared their personal lives and kind of made it into a brief therapy session, but it was nice to see that Mr. Kim cared about our well-being.

Yes. You will learn. This class is not particularly interesting. Lectures can be very boring. But in the end you learn a ton, and get the grade you deserve. Everything is clearly outlined in the syllabus and online so there is no guessing. The textbook resources available are great for this class too.

I would definitely recommend Mr. Kim. He's very straight forward on what to expect in class and gives you everything you need in order to pass. He does care about his students and wants them to succeed. It took Mr. Kim to make me realize that the more time you put into something, the more likely you are to learn about it.

Good.

This is my second time having professor Kim as my teacher for the same subject and he has improved a lot. Even though I thought that his class was great the first time I took it he changed some of the notes and has improved. He really is a good teacher and I'm glad that he still teaches.

I really enjoyed his class and I know that this subject can be very difficult and requires a lot of studying and it can all be overwhelming, but I felt that in his class I was able to grasp the material and was able to keep up with all of my studies.

I believe that Kim has a good heart but he needs to teach rather than read, many of his lectures I would just sit and fill in blanks on the power point and after leaving his class still be confused on some course material. Kim did not make the class fun and exciting which would have helped to obtain a better grade.

I also liked how exams were taken online and were able to take them during the test day at any time that we felt ready. He also gave adequate time to take the exams.

The only thing is he is kind of hard to understand because he does have a heavy accent.

He was very punctual for every class and managed to be very straight to the point with what we were learning.

He knows his subject, so when we would ask for help, he was able to help us and explain it in a way that was easy to understand. He's also entertaining, which is great when taking a science course.

AS a teacher, Jung Eun Kim has many strengths but there was one particular strength that has helped me a lot throughout this course. His main strength would have to be his overall knowledge about the course becuase wihtout it I would be extrememly lost but another strength that gets me through this course is his teaching technique. I am not sure if he notices it but the way he teaches the course encourages me to want to come to class to see what we are going to learn next and how he is going to demonstrate the topic.

He is a really funny guy and his humor makes you pay attention to what he is saying. He always answers the students questions and he gives back assignments very quickly so the students can study the material for upcoming exams.

I would like more guidance in what to study for on the exams. Some of the exams were extremely hard with a lot of material to study, and most of the material was not on the exam. A study guide would be nice.

There's always lots of time leftover. If we spent more time doing an overview of the lab procedure we'd get more out of it. For example, I still don't know what I'm supposed to take away by the fact that increasing the amplitude of a charge sent to a muscle increases the standard deviation between reactions.

To not read from a powerpoint, but to actually teach and give real life examples about the material. If i did not have the book to teach me I would have no idea on anatomy.

More lectures for understanding instead of just digging right through the models. Background would be helpful or the whys.

Allowed for extra credit for coming to every class, encouraged students to try harder on the in class quizzes.

He would ask anyone if there are any questions and go to them on a one to one basis.

by allowing them to come in and see how they did on their tests and which answers were correct. he also was very open and easy to talk to whenever i needed help.

His instructions were crystal clear and made an attempt to make sure that we were to be prepared before every class. He wanted us to succeed in his class and encouraged us to study at the lab whenever we could.

He explained the material well and made things easy to understand.

Jung Eun Kim showed concern by always going around the class and asking if we had any questions and by doing this it showed that if we were unclear about something we would be able to go to him for it. Also, another way he shows concern is by being alert. What I mean is that when we are doing a lab in our group he would sit in the front and whenever our group was confused we would look for him and he would sometimes be coming to our table to help us. I thought this was cool because it showed me that he was not just a teacher who sat in the front and did not care...no he was a teacher that would help us before we could even ask him. (one step ahead of us!)

Professor Kim shows concern for students by answering any questions students have in class and having regular office hours available for students to ask questions.

He walks around class during lab and goes to each table making sure every one knows what they are doing and is there to answer any questions if they have any.

This is not a comment about the teacher but about the class facilities. There were not enough anatomical models and many of the models are incomplete or the reference markings have rubbed off over time. The shortage and quality of the models made studying the anatomical models outside of class very difficult. The online resources are very helpful but there were no models of the eye online and I was unable to review the large anatomical model of the eye outside of class (there is only one model).

he gave great examples of the texts in real life setting as he is also an RT this made the data more relatable and interesting for me as a student. He also helped create a very safe environment for learning as he created jokes while lecturing and kept us attentive even when it was some times hard to understand his accent. I really enjoyed having a teacher that could make us laugh while we learned.

I've never had a professor like Jung before. He went out of his way in helping be obtain a book when my order didnt come thru at the time. He is a very smart man and knows his material. I can't wait to be in his class setting again. He asks you questions to make you think and understand the material even more. Jung also does visual aides, and I'm all about the visual aides, in order for you to understand concepts and laws.

He answered emails right away when I was stuck. Jung brought a book to my second job so that I wouldn't be behind in the class material. What teacher does that? No one takes time out of their busy schedules anymore but to do the bare minimum.

Remind the class about any homework assignments.

Sometimes his accent is hard to understand when he says certain words, but I don't know if he can change this. But it's better than some other teachers, just sometimes it's hard.

During our tests you have us at stations and when we are done with that station we wait till another station we havent done is open. What commonly happens in this method, is a lot people sitting a waiting around for just one or two stations. I have waiting over 15min for one station because other people have cut in front of me. Maybe think of a more structured so that everyone has an equal amount of time at each station and dont have to worry about other people cutting in line.

update the numbering on the anatomical models. most of the models were very worn down and the numbers were smudged.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

He always goes around the class and see if students need help in identifying the structures of the models. He always goes over the models at the end of class to clear the confusions on where things are; by Mr Kim doing an overview on the structures of the models really help me because I would go over the models with my classmate and the structures that my lab partner and I couldn't find Mr Kim would clarify them.

When studying the models he is very helpful because the numbers on the models are wipe out or the numberings are not there, Mr. Kim is always there to help.

He turned our work back in promptly and helped when we couldn't find something on the model.

My lab partner had problems in the class. She was having a hard time with the exams. Mr. Kim sat her down and talked about her options. Letting her know what grades she has to get on her remaining exams for her to pass the class and different strategies she could use for studying.

Took attendance frequently and got to know each student by name and learning style.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes I would because he shows a lot of concerns in the students success in the class. He grades fairly, he doesn't round up the scores which I like because it shows that the student would work hard for their grade rather then just relying on rounding grades. Without rounding grades it makes a student feel better of themselves because they know for a fact that they earned every point of their grade.

I would recommend him to other students because this is a very easy course (if you took it during the summer). sometimes you have to go study the models on your own but its a breeze.

Yes, because he is a good teacher who makes the class interesting and shares interesting random facts that help with memorization of the things that we are learning. So even though his accent is hard to understand sometimes, he is pretty good to take a class with him teaching it.

Yes. He is well organized, approachable and humorous. He is helpful in class, and conducts a fair exam.

I would like to thank him for being an awesome teacher! He is also funny in class.

Mr. Kim is a very good lab instructor. He clearly demonstrates the experiments before we do them, is very patient and takes time to point out all the locations that we are required to know on the poorly labeled models. His exams are tough but fair and he gets us our grades promptly. Even though his accent is strong he speaks clearly. He is also very humorous is the classroom.
