13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Very knowledgable in subject, very friendly and approachable. She always provides help for students.
Amii knew her subject and was able to go into detail if you ask her for it.
She knows her stuff
She really knows the courses material and knows how to explain it when we are struggling to understand.
She knows the subject well, and was able to answer most students' questions
very organized; great way of presenting material to class; gives many examples in class so it becomes easier to learn the material
She is well organized and willing to help in and out of class. She also replied to emails quickly.
encourages students to get help by asking questions for a better understanding.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Perhaps provide more background information for some chemistry concepts during lecture. Lecture is very straight-forward and math heavy. Sometimes it's difficult to follow because the math equations and vocabulary definitions lacks context, which makes relating them to chemistry theory/concepts difficult.
Any changes would be the quizzes most would like to take the quizzes in the beginning of the class and not after the lecture.
Took too long and slow in the beginning and speed up in the middle
Great teacher, nothing
N/A
nothing.
give access to old exams from previous semesters to have an idea on how questions will be presented on exams.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She's always available for help after class and during office hours, she'll explain math calculations step by step if need! She also has tons of patience and doesn't get annoyed if ask her too many questions!
Available outside of class, good with responding emails, helpful
She had her door open to her office pretty much whenever she was not teaching, between her and Dennis Perusse its hard to tell who was more available.
She showed encouragement by stressing which points and areas in the subject that must be learned and memorized.
study guides; keeps c;ass interactive by asking questions
She listened and answered emails and questions quickly
very accesable, even not during office hours.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, she's very friendly and is my first teacher that made chemistry "make-sense" to me.
Yes, if you like a standard class teaching style and not too uptight of a atmosphere feel to it.
I would bc chemistry is hard and she is helpful
Absolutely, She was easy to get a long with but still held the air as a teacher. Broke down problems when you came to her office to get help and made you work for the answer.
Yes, she is by far one of my favorite professors. We all know simple additions and subtractions, and know its answer in a small amount of time. She knows her subject as if it was simple math.
yes. fun class; easy teacher to understand and learn from
Yes, although lot of work I learned a lot.
yes, because she is approachable.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
She is very kind.
Nice person
Wish she taught 162
The course was great all throughout; I feel motivated to study a bit more in-depth in Chemistry.
thank you
she's friendly

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
She was always willing to help and elaborate more on subjects during office hours. She is very intelligent and wants the student to understand the entire concept as well.
She knows the lectures very well.
Amii has well organized lectures.
she is nice and friendly.
very knowledgable of the material, presents it in a broken down easy to understand way. especially for a subject as complex as chemistry- this was great of marci
Her organized power points, and ability to answer questions clearly when asked.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
The exams were kind of lengthy and time consuming. May you review before exams?
She may thinks of any other ways to present her lectures instead of PPT every time.
Make tests that students can actually pass and are reasonably completable within the given timeframe. Just because the teacher can complete the test in the given time with proficiency doesn't mean the students can. One of the tests was handed back and when most of us failed she told us that most of the students fail every semester. Either teach more to the test, assign homework that is more reasonable to the test (so we can prepare) or give tests that properly reflect the homework and lecture. The tests were full of curve balls and exceptions. It seemed unreasonable and unachievable. There were multiple good students in the class that nearly failed; having given alot of effort. The lecture material and process was a good environment, but it felt impossible to succeed so sometimes there didn't even seem to be a point in trying. I have given out half as much effort on hard classes like zoology and calculus and gotten way better grades. Because it seemed hopeless the learning environment positivity decreased.
try to make the class more organized and clear.
nothing really!
None
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She was available during office hours and is extremely well at explaining further details.
She willings to offer helps to the students, and always concern we understand her lectures or not.
she will answer any students questiono after class.
very accessible to students outside of class if they need help or need extra notes or even to get notes they've missed.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, she is a great professor. The student should know how to work individually and study everyday.
Yes, because she helps students to achieve more.
She lectures AMAZINGLY. Because she tests strangely and unpredictably I would not recommend her.
i don't know, because i think she is nice teacher, but her class is a litte bit hard to understand.
YES!!! she's a wonderful professor, very understanding and doesn't try to fail students. genuinely wants to help students get the best grade possible and so helps them with anything they might need
Definitely
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
She's kind and pretty.
She is a very good teacher even though she usually cool face.
Thank you for actually taking the time to show us how to use our calculators on special features etc in the beginning of the semester.
no
one of the best professors at KCC!! loved the class
Even though the content is hard, Amii makes it easy to understand.
18. Other comments:
I enjoy her class.
I was encouraged to stay in the class after the drop date because the class was supposed to be substantially easier. It wasn't. I wish she was more honest. I don't think it is a matter of perception because we ALL felt like it was harder.
