It fit my schedule and sounded interesting
Interesting title.
Interesting matierial
The class looked interesting, and fulfilled a requirement as a POLS minor.
The topic was of great interest.
I needed upper level credits.
I am taking this course for my Political Science Minor and because it fit into my schedule. The subject matter was also quite interesting.
I took this course for POLS minor requirement and because it was one of the best course offerings I've seen in the department (Revolution and Utopia? THAT IS AWESOME!) I think the POLS department does well in offering more diverse courses than just women's studies, regional, and introductory course offerings. Of course, I've heard so much about Professor Manfred Steger, and he is simply awesome!
The Title
Personal interest in the subject matter, along with Professor Steger's notable and well-deserved reputation.
It was an elective. It sounded interesting, and it was.
Interested in both Revolutions and Utopia. I also needed more POLS classes for my minor
Requirement for major.

18. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?
He had great insights and was able to engage the class in very passionate and thought provoking discussions, bringing a very philosophical aspect
Very intelligent and articulate; always prepared and punctual, with high standards for thought and discussion that keep a good degree of engagement going.
the knowledge of the subject, and his ability to engage the students with the text
Manfred Steger is a great professor who encourages students to challenge the moral foundations in which revolutions and political systems are built upon. He encourages us to ask questions and to debate in order to gain knowledge, and I find this approach extremely useful when it comes to learning new information.
Open Communication
He is intelligent and understands the materials.
I felt that Professor Steger was very knowledgable about the subject and allowed the class to really think critically about Revolution and Utopia in a way that would not have been possible before.
His open-mindedness and knowledge - especially in the POLS department where teachers can be very biased in debate. I also love his fair grading style.
The course readings were very important to the class
His passion, energy, and deep knowledge within the political science and philosophy field. His lectures and insightful readings made me self-motivated to learn as much as I could during the semester.
Passionate about topic and very knowledgable
Professor Steger was very, very engaging. Whether it was the topic of Utopia and Revolution itself or the way the professor explained and taught us the materials, or both. The class was very interesting and applicable to our current and future situations on all levels in our life, whether within our University, our country or even international politics.
19. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the instructor?
His Austrianness is slightly intimidating, though that could be positive as well.
The only problem is that the class is once a week and 3 hours long, but that has nothing to do with the professor.
NA
He is pretty intimidating.
I honestly cannot think of anything.
.... I don't believe I have any problems with Steger because he is just so amazing.
I have no complaints about him

26. Other comments:
Very strong class, it made me think about the people that fight for a better world and what that even means.
The class time is a little long, requiring caffeine to make it through the second half.
Awesome class. There was lots of great, meaningful content that I thought about long after the lecture ended. I enjoyed it a lot.
Loved this class! I would recommend it to any other student - Political Science Major/Minor or not.
Frantz Fanon's "The Wretched of the Earth" would be a good book for future classes to read.
Probably the best professor I have ever had.
You should definitely provide this course, preferably taught by Steger, at the least on an annual basis. It was extremely interesting.
I wish it met MWF or TR because once a week is not enough! I really enjoyed this class!
