15. What did you like least about your online course experience?
none
great
none; it's a good course.
Time
During Angela's podcasts, she says "alriiight" or "oookay" after 90% of her sentences. It is distracting and irritating.
Hard to Understand
16. What did you like most about your online course experience?
It was easy to access class work, test and quizzes. It was very convenient for me.
the videos
convenient; I could watch lectures whenever and wherever I wanted.
The course
I love plants and botany so even though I did not very much like this instructor or her teaching methods and policies, I did enjoy the course material.
Easy accessible
17. Other comments:
none.
I think it is unacceptable not to have a rough outline of some kind of schedule for a class. This is the first time that I have ever taken a class and not had a tentative schedule right from the beginning. When you are working full time and are a full time student, it is essential to know about assignments, quizzes and exams as soon as possible so that you may work them into your busy schedule and complete them by the due date. When I wrote to Angela about this, she claimed that she would notify of us assignments and quizzes by email at least a week before their due date, which to me is unacceptable as well. First of all, there are plenty of tools in Laulima to do this more efficiently. Second of all, when you are attending distance learning courses from multiple colleges and have been a student for two or three years, your school email is constantly flooded with junk mail from all of the colleges and so it is very easy to overlook important ones. Using the announcements or assignments or some other feature in Laulima would be much easier. Thirdly, Angela would actually sometimes notify us of upcoming quizzes (via email) less than a week in advance. However, if you accidentally missed a quiz, she was completely unwilling to let you make it up. I found this very unfair considering how screwed up her method of delivering the news about them being due is, on top of the fact that she does allow people to make up exams. It makes no sense. Another thing is that Angela does not respond to emails in a timely manner and sometimes not at all. And, if she does, she may not even address the question or issue that you wrote to her about in the first place. Very frustrating.
