13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

Mr. Yoneshige is really down to earth and very easy to speak with. Very encouraging, he made this class extremely enjoyable.

Teach more classes! He's fantastic!

He was always willing to listen, he took the time to have discussions with the class as a whole when someone had a question.

Mr. Yoneshige listened with intent and helped us to understand the curriculum. He also helped us to realize that we need to raise the bar and have a solid foundation in accounting.

He encourage us in the work that was assigned and insight of accounting.

by asking questions, taking note down to make sure students have the right answer. He posted answer on Laulima so students can easily have access to correct and study their homework assignment.

He listened and would help them find the answers.

Yes! He is awesome!

I would absolutely recommend Mr. Yoneshige to other students. He is a wealth of information and experiences. His personality is addicting and it was hard to see him leave mid-semester.

He made having to be in class fun!

Mr. Yoneshige wants the best for all of his students. He loves what he does and he is not afraid to "bite the bullet" when we find mistakes in his calculations! Hee, hee!

To Mr. Yoneshige's Superiors: Please hold on to Mr. Yoneshige. He defines a teacher and is a great man!

I believe the Accounting Student Night should be more than just a third of our grade. With the amount of time and effort that is needed to put into this event, there should be some type of incentive for all students to put their best efforts. Bare minimum efforts results in a bare minimum quality of the event.

His class was very organized and he always cares about students.

Very familiar with the subject matter. We were able to ask questions outside the subject matter and he was right there with an answer.

Class is too short. I love the practical side of accounting. I learned alot and found accounting to be an interesting career for me. Because of him, im eager to start my career in accounting.

Highly recommend Mr. Yoneshige to other students. He creates an atmosphere in class that intrigues our interest in accounting. He is very knowledible on the subject matter and other areas not pertaining to the class. His class is structured, thus you know what needs to be done and when its due. His class gives you the prospective of actually working out there in the field. During my internship class, Mr. Yoneshiges class was highly helpful thus ive been hired as a part time accounting clerk.

17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

I only hoped he would have taught longer. Its not just the class material taught, but his way of teaching that got me wishing he taught other classes. He makes the class interesting by his real life experiences and his full understanding by teaching outside the textbook. I don't even think he looked at the text book for guidence the whole time. He knew his material very well. Possibly auditing. I love his class, but i felt it was too short

Being a local guy ( i believe i was) gave me that extra interest because of how he approached the subject matter. The class was very interesting and i learned alot in his class. Thanks to him, my internship was so much easier. Thank you again.

He made sure everyone understood what was being taught.

- He waited to move onto another subject/chapter until everyone understood the chapters/subject. Very patient, understanding, easy going, relaxed.

He's a great teacher. I would recommend him to everyone. I had a great time in class with him and I learned a lot.

He is very knowledgeable about the course.

He went over quizzes and test after they were graded and went over areas that he felt needed more attention so the students would understand.

He was always there to answer questions whenever we needed help. Went out of his way to help us.

he doesn't leave the topic without the whole class understanding it. He also takes the blame of not teaching the particular topic very well whenever a lot of students got an item in the quiz/exam wrong.

I recommend students to take his class because you will learn and see how accounting is applied manually.

Yes. He waits until everyone in class understands a section/chapter then move onto the next chapter/section.

I really enjoyed his class, I like the pace of how he teaches, and he is a very patient teacher.

Very good instructor! Please hire him to teach the whole course during the semester.

He should continue to teach this class or another accounting course. He's a really good teacher.

****This has nothing to do with the evaluation of Mr. Kerry Yoneshige.*** The course as a whole with four instructors involved is very disorganized. It doesn't transition smoothly (i.e. have smooth transitions.) We start off the semester with six weeks of the manual accounting cycle then jump right into Mr. Kobayashi's accounting research for the rest of the semester. Plus within the six weeks, the planning of Accounting Student Night starts from almost the first week of semester to end of October. Then having to deal with a very disorganized internal control project headed by Accounting Professor Dooley - getting piece by piece information (by either Mr. Dooley or another student) of more requirements that is not listed on the timeline completion schedule up until presentation week from Professor Dooley. After the internal control project, we have to do a True Blood case presentation. This course should have two instructors, not three or four instructors involved.

This part of ACC 231B was wonderful. However, having technically 4 professors running this class was very stressful. You could never go to just one professor for a final answer. I really learned a lot from the SUA portion, but after that I feel like I haven't been able to retain everything else. The class went from one subject to a completely different one w/o an in-between. I felt like I was being pulled in 5 different directions. SUA, Accounting Student Night, Acccounting Research and Internal Control Project and a TrueBlood project. There were too many chiefs for this class. I have no idea why we can't evaluate Dooley since he was in-chare of the Internal Controls Project. Also it's a waste of the students time and money when we have to repeat the same activities again for Accounting Student Night and Internal Controls project for ACC 251B. This class is very disorganized! This should be fixed. ACC 231B should only have the SUA and TrueBlood. Accounting Student Night and the Internal Controls Project should be assigned only for ACC 251b. We shouldn't have to do the same projects twice for two different classes.

His class have a lot of assignments to be completed but believe me, those will help students to really understands the overall manual process of accounting.
