13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He knows the subject very well and is able to explain the material in a clear manner.
being there for his students. he's very accessible outside of class.
To me Math is a boring subject, but Mr. Brown is entertaining and tries to make the class fun. Funny guy.
Mr. Brown has a way of teaching math so that I understand it. The learning environment was great and he really encouraged me to do better then I thought I could. I told myself that I would be happy with a C in the course but because of Mr. Browns guidance I have an A. He really took the time to make sure the other students and myself would be successful in this course!
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
n/a
n/a
I don't suggest he change anything!
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He coordinated study sessions outside of class.
always making sure we know when his office hours are to help us
n/a
Yes he did! I have never had an instructor demonstrate such care for his students!
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, he is very knowledgeable and makes class fun.
yes, he is very fair with his grading and always there to help you understand the course
Yes. Tries not to make Math boring
Most veteran instructors at KCC are what I like to call "dream crushers" due to their lack of enthusiasm for their job, lack of concern for their students success, and their lack of understanding that we are taking a course to learn something we do not yet know. Mr. Brown is most certainly not a "dream Crusher". If you want to actually learn math, ask questions without feeling stupid, and not have a slave driver for a teacher I would recommend Jonathan Brown! In my opinion he's the best teacher at KCC!
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
he's a chill teacher that is always willing to help you pass the course

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Very helpful and encourages participation from the class. He is very optimistic and helps to keep the lessons a bit more fun through jokes and stories.
I really like Jon's teaching style. He is very upbeat when he teaches and he makes class fun by throwing some jokes here and there. He's always excited about teaching and class is never boring.
Makes class enjoyable
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
I know the course material was hard and sometimes hard to explain which is why I think it would be better to make Math 100 have a lecture session that is longer than 50 minutes a day. I know we had the class three times a week, but it was sometimes hard to grasp the lesson for the day when, by the time I was starting to get it, the class already ended and I couldn't ask anymore questions!
Sometimes, Jon would jump from one subject to the other without completely explaining how he got the answer. I would suggest him sticking to one topic and giving clear examples of how he got the answer before moving on to the next topic. He does catch himself doing that sometimes haha.
Maybe come a little earlier
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He left the office hours to be decided on by the students. Although I couldn't make it to the office hours, he was kind enough to get work back to me quickly and help me with problems after class.
He really shows that he really wants his students to pass because he gives opportunities like turning late homework with a certain percent of deduction, or correcting old homework with no penalty for a better grade.
Answer all questions and such
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Sure. Just get a class that is longer than the MWF 50 minute lecture classes!
Yes, I would recommend Jon to other students because unlike some of my teachers, hes very enthusiastic about teaching and his class is never boring. His upbeat attitude makes you pay attention.
Yes, makes math fun and I learned a lot
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Please read other answers.
Not much

21. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the course?
Surprisingly, I actually liked something in this math course. I liked how we learned how to calculate financial things that we would need in the real world like investing at certain percentages, APRs, future values, compounding annually, monthly, etc. Finally something that could applied to real life! :) Although I really hated the logic section of this course at first, I'm really glad we learned a bit about it. My major encourages me to take a logic class so the section is a nice introduction to it.
Went in small steps
22. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the course?
I'm probably not going to use the other things I learned besides the one I mentioned above but it's good to know that despite not needing it, I still know how to do it like, for example, the sigma. Knowledge is power!
Mm..not sure
