8. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
|
| Learning how sports worked, important critical elements to learn to actually play the game. |
| Learning how to play the sports with the people in my class through a "hands-on" experience. |
| Team Work |
| How to play certain sport both competitively as well as with great sportsmanship. |
| Gari-Vic took the time to handout information about the different sports that
were covered. We had a lot of opportunity to practice in each sport. |
| The hands on experience of learning about specific "invasion" sports. |
| Reading the notes then going out to play was the way to do it. So as we played we policed ourselves, and when one person wasn't sure about a rule others would help. |
|
|
9. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
|
| Sports not commonly played, Speedball, futsol (indoor). Some sports are unnecessary to learn. Use
more common sports like basketball, football, soccer (outdoor), ultimate frisbee. Gives students
more time to practice and specialize in these sports. |
| Participation |
| How to play sports that are most commonly played, however it is understood because not every
person plays those sports even if they are common. |
| The fact that he did not teach anything about strategies or tactics. I don't
believe he understands why specific sports have been selected for this
course. There was very little instruction on the skills and nothing on how to
go about knowing critical elements or teaching them. |

20. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?
|
| Equal opportunity to practice. More small sided games rather than one big game. Gives every
student equal opportunity to play. |
| Inspire competition |
| When giving out the study guides for the test do not make it too wordy because it becomes
confusing. Keep the study guides short and simple. |
| By teaching. This felt like; here are some balls, now go have fun.
Understand that rewarding students based on irrelevant outcomes (such as who
can be the best three point shooter) rather then process is inappropriate at
this level. In addition,in my opinion, allowing the use of cleats(which only
a small number of students have) is not safe. I was stepped on by a student
wearing cleats. It's either everyone if fully geared up for each sport or no
one. |

|

| Nice person who was unfortunately placed in a situation for which he is not
qualified. The KRS department should take the responsibility. |

27. State in two or three sentences how this course could be improved.
|
| Less sports. More sports gives less time to practice. Limit the amount of sports played so it gives
students more time to learn, practice, and improve sport skills. |
| By having a teacher who understands the reason for this course and who keeps
in mind that it is here to train students for a physical education career. |
