Ms.Wichman is Great teacher but the Math department and thier rules of the EXAMS and how we only get to retake it once per day is UNREAL. Ms.Wichman was very helpful when it came to assignments but i just do not understand why the EXAMS are the way they are. I know that it is made to help us review but it is such hassle for some students. PLEASE CHANGE THIS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS. THANK YOU. ALOHA. MALAMA PONO. CHEEEEHEEEEE. ALLRIGHHH. Jennie Thompson Please!!!
Good professor. Me gusta. There is no complaints. She is willingly to help others.
Awesome teacher !
This four week accelerated computer course seems to have been designed to set up students for failure. While the weekly assignments and exams in an accelerated environment are understandable, the fact that one must achieve a minimum for eight separate components or face complete failure of the course is completely unrealistic.
Teacher was good, course moved to fast for student, expetually if students are expeted to make 70% or higher on everything... not fair.
Andrea wichmann is an awesome professor but the way this course is set up makes for a very stressful summer session. If a student is taking a science course in addition to this math 103 course, the work load is close to unbearable.
Mrs. Wichman is a great teacher but the grading system for this class is obserd. The fact that we can only retake exams once a day is unreal.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
She was new this year (to my knowledge). I like that she was very clear and made some confusing terminology and theorems easier. She is very understanding and takes the time to go over any homework you didn't understand. Shes very strait to the point and tells you what you need to know.
Very knowledgeable teacher, available to students outside of class if help was needed.
Andrea really knew her subject area and was willing to help in any way if we didn't understand how to do a problem.
she writes down on the bored what you need to know and study from the book to make it easier to keep up :}
she knows the material very well.
She explained everything very clearly.
She explains the material in a clear way that is easily understandable. She makes herself available to help her students succeed outside of class.
She is younger than the average math teacher and can relate a little better than some other teachers I have had in the past.
She knows the material she is teaching.
She is very lenient when necessary, and she is very intellegent in her approach.
She knows how to explain complicated equations plainly
Very helpful and understanding.
knows subject, cares about students, available for help
She was helpful to her students, always available for questions and extra help. She also responded to emails promptly.
I feel that she knew her subject matter well.
The way she explains things simply and clearly.
She is good at lecturing and students can take good notes from them.
Kind, neat handwriting, and knowledgeable.
She is always willing to help students.
She new her material and made sure that students were prepared for her exams. She made herself available for the students who weren't really comprehending the materials. she gave students the opportunity to make up exams that were not particularly up to par. and she is a very caring and just overall an excellent instructor.
Stays on the schedule almost always. Consistent.
EXPLAINING VERY VERY WELL
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Power Point presentations, please! Writing everything down on the board was a little redundant, as everything was in the book (definitions, etc). Maybe writing the unique sample problems out was fine, but writing everything on the board made already boring material a little more boring. Also, PPs save markers and time.
No changes at all. I like the way she organizes the class and puts everything together.
needs to be more one on one with students in class.
learn to use laulima
Slow down when doing lectures, especially when there is a lot of writing. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the discussion when i'm still writing about the last example. Also, it helps to give practice problems in class so that we have a chance to do them ourselves, before trying the homework.

None.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She always explains anything you tell her you don't understand. She goes over any problems on the homework.
Available to students outside of class regarding concerns bout school, and during class, she ensured that the students knew the material before continuing.
She would email out a study guide for each exam that we had. It really helped for those who didn't make it to class sometimes. It also helped me do better than I thought I would on my exam.
yes she gave me chances to fix my work.
She made sure students understood the information by making it very clear and available, giving study guides, and holding review sessions.
Always being availble for questions and willing to help with problems.
Andrea was fair, she also prepared study guides and was available by email.
Made sure that everyone got the material by letting the class know if they have any questions.
she prefers our opinions and work with that other than imposing her own.
She offered extra help for those who needed it and even extra credit for those who had a bad day on their test
She offered office hours before exams to help with any last minute confusion and responded promptly to questions.
Asking often if we (students) got the part she just taught before going on to the next--giving us extra examples if needed without being hurry.
She encouraged students to come see her during her office hours if they needed any help.
She informed us that she was available outside of class and willingly answered questions during class.
If she see's that the class did not do good on an exam, she will provide extra credit.
Asked if we understood the problems and if we had any questions.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes!!! She's very nice and understanding and strait to the point.
Yes, she is very knowledgeable, helpful, and ridiculously hot which made the class a lot less boring.
I would definitely recommend Andrea Herndon to other students who are interested in taking her class because she is very organized.
yes she is a very good teacher with good teaching methods if you like to write down notes.

Yes, she makes math easy to understand.
Yes. Great instructor with passion for teaching.
Yes, she is aproachable and will help even after class if you have issues. She will also work around your schedule if you can not make it to class on a specific day.
I would. I know she is new, but she is very adaptable and relates well to students.
I would recommend Andrea Herndon for her constant helping with students issues in math 100 and her laid back style in teaching.
yes. if they want an easy subject.

Yes. She is a good teacher and does a everything a good teacher should
yes because she was helpful throughout the semester. She actually wants her students to succeed and learn.

Yes. simple explanations, and so easy to get the points.
Yes, she teaches well and gives good examples to help students understand the subject fully.
Yes. This was the most pleasant math class I've ever taken. Rather than making the class seem stressful, she somehow made it enjoyable and a relaxed. Her notes were very helpful.
Yes. The help is there.
Yes, because although the material is hard to understand she explains it in a way that makes sense.
Yes! I would.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
I thought that this was a great class. Its hard to get 25 different people with different learning techniques, into a subject as difficult as math. Provided with a text, full summaries of each chapter, and then daily homework is probably the only way to get the most teaching effects on the overall class population.
missing attachments, have to beg for my homework when I was absent, keep asking, no or slow answer, homework given to me after it was due.
Good teacher.
Good Job!

Chapter reviews (study guides) she made for each test were very helpful as well.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Made sure that homework counted.
She would give us extra credit after ever test so that we could have a chance to get a good grade. Also, if a student needed help, she would allow them to go to her office and stay there until there questions were answered.
Everyday been helping after class, informing about dates or asking about students opiniom.
