10. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
|
| I felt that learning about group dynamics was very useful. I have to work in groups a lot. I feel like I will be more effective with my new knowledge. |
| We learned many things such as ways to give an effective interview and ways ti give an effective speech. |
| I really enjoyed how much we learned about speaking and human interaction.. Many of the things we
learned in this course are applicable to everyday life which was a huge bonus! |
| The homework and projects that Aili had us do were the most valuable to me. The assignments helped me to get a working knowledge of the concepts she taught us. |
| I thought her lectures were really helpful. Matching them with the book was a good reinforcer
for the new concepts, especially when she played clips. |
| The homework assignments where we had to go in front of the class for quick
speeches. |
| I really enjoyed learning about how people communicate with their body language more than vocally saying something. I found everything involved in this course as valuable. I taught us skills we would be able to use for our future careers. |
| I feel that communication in general was a valuable aspect of this course. I learned how to communicate better with my family, friends, classmates, and myself. I feel like I will do good in interviews now that I know how to communicate effectively. |
| The interviewing homework was the most valuable and all of the interesting
concepts learned within the course. |
|
|
11. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
|
| Everything that was not valuable to me, was interesting. So everything in the class was either useful or interesting. |
| I felt that the material involving romantic communication was least valuable |
| I found this course to be very enjoyable, I guess the only thing I didnt like so much was that we had
a final speech and then a final test one after another.. made it kind of tough to cram in the last week |
| I honestly don't think any part of the course was the least valuable. Each aspect built on top of one another to help ensure we had a working knowledge of the material and was able to translate it to the real world. |
| Honestly, I feel like since we had so little time, Aili put all of our time to really good use, with
there being some point behind everything we did. |
| The paper on the five stages of coming together and coming apart. |
| Since communication is important and in our everyday lives I feel that all aspects in this course were equally important. |
| Some of the theories and off tangent conversations were the least valuable in
this course. |

18. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?
|
| She was articulate, enthusiastic, and understanding. She didn't dumb anything down and held us to a high standard. She efficiently and effectively used all the class time each day. |
| She asks us if we understand, and changes her working until you understand. |
| She was very easy to contact and responded quick with emails |
| Very enthusiastic about public speaking.. She is fun and defiantly one of my favorite professors ive
had thus far, makes lectures interesting with her abundant energy and passion about the course! |
| Aili has a warm personality that makes her easy to talk to and approach when I needed help. She can also relate to her students very well which also makes it easier to learn. |
| She's so friendly and enthusiastic! |
| Everything |
| She always came to class with a great attitude and she always makes time to talk to her students. She is great with emails because she replies back really fast which is something not a lot of professors do. |
| You explain everything by giving definitions and your own examples. Your powerpoints are clear and you always put them up on Laulima. You try to get the class to give their own examples of different terms, even if our class barely spoke. |
| She is very enthusiastic when it comes to her work and class. |
|
|
19. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the instructor?
|
| Study guides were not very helpful |
| Really have no complaints about her teaching style.. Only possible suggestion is that she goes
through material very fast sometimes but that was perhaps due to the fact that this course was
during the shortened summer term |
| Nothing. |
| The late postings of the lectures before class, seeing as I usually leave around when she
usually posts the lectures. |
| I found nothing least valuable. |
| Sometimes you talk a little fast and since it was a summer course everything was jammed together. |
| Her back to back assignments. |
|
|

| Why is this survey so negative? It seems weird that you have questions specifically asking for faults about your teacher or the class. You should phrase your questions neutrally. |
| Thank you for a great term! Wish you weren't leaving so I could take another course taught by you!
Enjoy your next job where ever it may be
-Travis |
| Great job Aili! I'm going to miss you! |
| I really really enjoyed this class! |
| Great class, but I didn't enjoy the persuasive speech topic because we had
to choose an organization to support. I thought this was too narrow and
made it hard to choose a topic. I wanted to do a speech on something I
would have enjoyed talking about. I think it would have made all the
speeches more interesting. |
| She is a great professor and she makes this course enjoyable and fun. |
